Boys & Girls Club Announces Smart Car Winner

The Boys & Girls Club of Benton Harbor drew the winning Smart Car Raffle Ticket at 8:00 p.m. August 12, 2008 at the 5^th Annual Steak & Burger Event. The WINNER of the 2008 smart fortwo passion coupe is Fern Buckler, Ticket No. 575. Ms. Buckler, a Saint Joseph, Michigan resident volunteers her time to our club working on numerous events. We would like to thank Ms. Buckler for her continuing support of our club. CONGRATULATIONS from Boys & Girls Club Staff, Members, & Board of Directors.

Benton Harbor, 05/27/2008 – The Boys and Girls Club of Benton Harbor has opened registration for the 2008 Summer Day Camp. Children may be register at 1200 East Main Street, Benton Harbor beginning Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The theme this year is, “It’s a Strong and Healthy Summer” The camp will run from June 9 – August 22, 2008, Monday thru Friday from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. serving ages 6 – 14 year old.

“This summer kids will learn life skills and healthy habits that will impact their lives positively,” said Jeanne Surch, Main Street Site Unit Director. “Club members will learn about kindness, ills of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, giving back to the community, making healthy food choices, practicing fun exercise routines, discover team work activities and enjoy the process of exhibiting projects at the Berrien County Youth Fair just to name a few. We are extending our hours to 6:00 p.m. for our summer camp at the Main Site to make it easier for parents to pick up their children at the end of the day”

The Boys and Girls Club of Benton Harbor has been an integral part of the Benton Harbor community for more than 9 years. Its two units provide services to 1100 + boys and girls, ages 6-18, in the key areas of Character & Leadership, Health & Life Skills, Education & Career Development, Technology, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and the Arts.
